There are many ways to skin a pineapple, but this is by far the easiest and most effective method we’ve come across. All you need is a knife and a cutting board. Simply cut off the top and bottom of the pineapple, then score the sides in a spiral pattern. Be sure to cut deep enough to pierce the flesh, but not so deep that you cut into the core. Next, simply twist the pineapple off of the cutting board. The peel should come right off, revealing perfectly peeled fruit that’s ready to eat or use in recipes.
What You Need
All you need is a pineapple and a knife.
If you’ve ever struggled to peel a pineapple, this hack is for you! Place the pineapple on a cutting board and insert a sharp knife into the top of the fruit, about 1 inch from the stem. Turn the pineapple so that the knife slicing into the top remains in place and continue to turn the fruit, slicing it into quarters. Next, cut each quarter of the pineapple in half. You should now have 8 pieces of pineapple.
To remove the skin, use a paring knife or vegetable peeler to peel away the skin from each piece of pineapple. You may need to go over some areas a few times to remove all of the skin. Once you’ve peeled all of the pieces of pineapple, cut off any remaining bits of skin and discard them.
Your pineapple is now ready to eat! Enjoy it fresh, or use it in your favorite recipe.
